What is Laser hair removal and how does it work?

Laser hair removal uses advanced light energy to safely target and disable hair follicles, reducing unwanted hair growth over time. At Boutique39 Skin Therapy, we use the Soprano Ice Platinum—one of the most effective, comfortable, and versatile laser hair removal systems on the market.

This technology combines three laser wavelengths to treat all skin tones and hair types with precision:

  • Alexandrite (755 nm): Ideal for fine or lighter hair; targets superficial follicles.

  • Diode (810 nm): The industry “workhorse,” effective for most skin and hair types.

  • Nd:YAG (1064 nm): Safest and most effective for deeper follicles and darker skin tones.

Because all three wavelengths fire simultaneously, treatments are thorough, efficient, and designed for maximum comfort.

Before treatment, the area is shaved the night prior. A cooling ultrasound gel is applied, then the laser handpiece glides smoothly over the skin.
Most clients begin with a series of 6 treatments spaced 6–8 weeks apart. Some areas or hair types may require up to 10 sessions. After completing your series, a maintenance treatment is recommended every 4–6 months to maintain results.
